Project Description

EFC was scoped out to coat ECM's warehouse to support the weight and foot traffic around a new machine being used. The job called for commercial grade top coat that would withstand both heavy weight (forklifts), and chemical resistance. Along with the machine section, they also requested a safety walkway to be coated to allow workers a safe area to converse between departments within the shop away from forklifts and moving machines.

The Challenges

Due to the fact that the machine shop was a 25+ year old slab, contamination and grease was a major problem to handle in our prep work. Our team diligently prepared the surface between degreasing, diamond grinding, and crack filling to get the substrate ready to be coated. Once prep was finalized, we were able to use our high-grade epoxy & polyaspartic flake system to get the floor ready to be used again.
